A career in the air

Your route to the cockpit

Individual · at your own pace

Your ATPL, tailored at your own pace

Van zero to a EASA Frozen ATPL: you start when you’re ready and build your own route, module by module. You do most of it at your own pace, with the option to join a structured class with fellow students for ATPL theory. You set the pace; we provide the structure where it counts.

Self-management

You schedule your flight lessons yourself and set your own pace. For the ATPL theory, you can join a structured class.

Instructors from across the industry

Built for the new aviation

From E-Deck to our own simulators: everything is built for the new aviation.

How does your route look?

In the full-time class, you do this in 16 to 18 months at about 40 hours per week. Individually, you schedule the same phases at your own pace. If you can spend about 20 hours per week on it, roughly allow for 2 times this duration. For ATPL theory, you can join a structured class. Below, for each phase, you can see the (full-time) time as a guideline.

Phase 6CPLThe professional licence: now you can fly for pay.Bij fulltime: ~2 weeks · ~40 h/week
ThenMCC + type ratingOutside the training, it depends on your aircraft.iThe MCC (Multi-Crew Cooperation) and type rating are intentionally not included in the program: which one you need depends on where you will be flying, and employers often provide the training themselves, at their own expense. If you will be flying single-pilot, you won’t even need MCC. That way, you don’t pay in advance for training you may not need. We’re happy to help you decide where and how to do this best.

Is life getting in the way? After each module, you can step away and pick it back up whenever it suits you, right where you left off.

The price

A flight training program is a major investment, and we know that better than anyone. With the individual track you pay per module and stay in control: you choose what you want to do with us and arrange the rest separately, such as skill tests, hour building, and the ATPL theory. Below you can see exactly what each part costs.

± € 119.000*

€ 73.716*Permanent position with us Per moduleYou pay per item Own paceRolling start

* Indicative. The € 119.000 is what a full-time student pays with us. Because as an individual student you arrange some parts yourself (with us or elsewhere), your total ends up slightly lower or higher. The CPL price assumes completed IR and ATPL theory.

The parts marked “self-arranged” (all skill tests, hour building, and ATPL theory) are booked separately, with us or elsewhere. That is why this subtotal is lower than the full-time program, not because it is cheaper: you still pay for those parts. All in all, you will come out at approximately € 119.000, the same as a full-time program.

Frequently asked questions

ATPL parttime: Programma & tempo

How long does the programme take?

Full-time it takes 16 to 18 months at around 40 hours per week. On the individual route you plan the same phases at your own pace: if you can spend about 20 hours per week on it, count on roughly twice that time. PPL, IR and CPL are short, intensive blocks (32 to 40 hours per week while you are in them), hour building is light and flexible (~6 hours per week), and the ATPL theory is a structured class of about 34 weeks. You set the rhythm.

Can I do this alongside my job and family?

That is exactly what this route is for: you plan everything at your own pace and build your route around your life. You do not have to put in 32 hours a week or squeeze your PPL into a few months. Do keep this in mind: if you let too much time pass, you lose rhythm and routine, and that affects how well you end up flying. The art is a pace that fits your life and keeps you sharp. In the information session we will look together at what works for you.

Do I always have the same instructor?

No, and that is deliberate. You learn from a diverse team of 15+ instructors, and most students fly their hours with several instructors from that team: from young, newly qualified flight instructors to experienced airline and (former) military pilots. That way you benefit from multiple perspectives instead of one person's style, and you are never stuck when someone is on holiday.

ATPL parttime: Toelating & eisen

Am I too old to become a pilot?

Probably not. Your life experience and discipline are in fact an advantage: many of our career switchers built another career first. What counts is a valid Class 1 medical and the motivation to go for it. Not sure? Come to an information session or take a trial lesson and you will know.

What are the hard requirements to start?

You are at least 17 years old (required for the PPL exam), hold a valid EASA Class 1 medical before your first solo flight (you may start without one at your own risk), and speak basic English. We recommend at least upper secondary level for the theory, but it is not compulsory. Not sure whether your height or weight fits in the Velis? Check it quickly using the questionnaire below.

ATPL parttime: Kosten & financiering

What exactly does the programme cost, and when do I pay what?

You pay per module. With us that comes to €73,716 in total for the flying and teaching modules (including PPL €21,329, IR(A) €25,200, CPL €9,580). Skill tests, hour building and the ATPL theory you arrange yourself, with us or elsewhere. As an indication, count on a total of around €119,000, comparable to full-time; your amount will come out somewhat lower or higher. Not included: Class 1 medical, resits, equipment and the later MCC and type rating.

Are the MCC and type rating included?

No, and that is deliberate: the MCC (Multi-Crew Cooperation) and the type rating are not part of the programme. Not an omission but a choice, because which MCC you need depends on where you will be flying. Many employers require an MCC (airlines, but often business aviation and special missions too); they have their own requirements and regularly provide the training themselves, at their expense. If you do take it yourself, it is best to match that choice to the employer or the kind of flying you have in mind. We are happy to think along and refer you to a suitable provider. If you end up flying single-pilot operations, you will not need an MCC at all. That way you do not pay in advance for training you may not need, or that your employer will pay for later.

Can I finance the programme?

With us you pay per module: if you have to stop along the way, you simply keep your hours and licences. Would you like more information about financing? .

What happens if I fail an exam?

A resit is at your own expense: theory €50–100, practical €400–2,000 per attempt. It costs time, but your progress and the licences you have already earned remain intact.

ATPL parttime: Carrière & zekerheid

Can you guarantee me a job?

No, but nobody can. Recruitment in aviation fluctuates heavily, so even the airlines cannot give a 100% guarantee. What we do instead: prepare you actively, with career sessions and interview training, a personal mentor and the E-Flight Club Nights. And we do our utmost to help place you somewhere.

Have you placed students anywhere yet?

No, we are still a young company. In March 2026 we launched our first ATPL class together with Corendon, and in September 2026 our own ATPL class started. We will share placement figures as soon as our first classes have graduated.

Am I tied to anything?

No. You do not sign a binding contract, only a non-binding quotation. You pay per phase, never more than one in advance, and you can stop at any time: you only pay for lessons taken and the licences you earned remain yours.

What if E-Flight were to cease operations?

Even then your risk is limited: you have never paid more than one phase in advance, and your licences and flight hours are in your name. You take those with you to any other flight school.

ATPL parttime: Aanmelden

What does the selection procedure look like?

For a part-time, modular programme there is no selection procedure. We do recommend taking a trial lesson, coming to an information session and arranging both your financing and your medical examination in good time.

When can I start?

At your own pace, without a waiting list: in principle you can start as early as next week. If you want to join the class for the ATPL theory, there are fixed start dates (and a separate modular class if there is enough interest). Apply for your Class 1 medical early. Leave your details and we will get in touch.

Every question is welcome.

You are not choosing a training, you are choosing a life as a pilot, and that comes with questions. Big or small, about money, doubts, or planning: just ask them. We’re happy to think along with you.
