Training content
- Theoretical training (5 hours):
- Basic aerodynamics for upset situations
- Physiological and psychological effects of upsets
- Strategies to mitigate startle effect
- Recovery procedures and techniques
- Practical training (3 hours dual, 6 hours FI):
- Stall events and recovery
- Nose high/low recovery at different bank angles
- Spiral dives
- Incipient spins and full spins
- G-load effects (-2 to +4G)
- Preflight briefings and postflight debriefings
- Certificate of completion by ATO
Entry requirements
- Minimum PPL(A) or LAPL(A)
- Valid medical examination
- Suitable for physically demanding training

Frequently asked questions
How physically demanding is the training?
The training can be physically demanding due to G-load effects. Lessons can be split into shorter flights if necessary.
Which aircraft is used?
We use the Pipistrel Virus Explorer, certified for minimum -1 to +2.5G but can handle -2 to 4G, suitable for normal stalls, chandelles, lazy eights and turns up to 60° bank angle.
Is this training mandatory?
For the ATPL, UPRT is mandatory. Many commercial aviation companies are also increasingly requiring UPRT. Check the requirements for your specific license or training.
After the course
After successful completion you receive a certificate that can be used for license endorsement. The UPRT is noted as a privilege on your license.
