The Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer is a fun, fast two-seater that we use in training for navigation flights. The Explorer is the most economical high-speed cruiser and certainly the fastest high-wing aircraft in its category. The aircraft is made of ultra-modern composite materials, lightweight, robust, and has an unprecedented useful payload of more than 300 kg (660 lbs).
How does it work?
The rental of the Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer is based on the minutes shown on the Hobbs meter. If the flight time is much longer than 60 minutes, we charge an additional fee per extra minute afterward. The minimum rental time is 60 minutes.
This rate includes
- VAT
- Fuel
- A maximum of two off-airfield landings or one cross-country flight
- CO2 compensation in cooperation with TreeByTree
On which days and at what times can I rent your aircraft?
This depends on our training schedule. In principle, booking earlier means more flexibility. Flying is possible within the airport's opening hours (Teuge) and as long as E-Flight staff are present in the building for supervision.
You can see the available dates and times when you select "Choose date and time" on this page. You will always see one-hour slots with a buffer of half an hour before and after the slot. If you want to fly for several hours, simply book the consecutive slots or call/message us at 055 203 2230 and we will look at it with you.
If there is nothing suitable, you can contact us by phone to coordinate.
Day trips, weekend trips, or longer
If you want to go away longer with our aircraft, for example to Texel for lunch, or somewhere for a weekend, that is only possible if no lessons are booked for the aircraft. In addition to the cost of the flight time, you also pay a fee if you leave the aircraft on the ground somewhere for longer than an hour. We settle this afterward. You only pay for the hours on the ground during opening hours (because then we cannot use the aircraft ourselves).
Conditions
To take our aircraft out, you must meet a number of conditions.
- You must have a valid Single Engine Piston rating and have successfully completed a check-out flight with one of our instructors before you rent for the first time.
- We ask you to read and sign our rental agreement and safety declaration carefully. If all went well, you already did this immediately after your training. Upload this signed document in your Wings before you start renting.
- You have made at least 1 flight with our Explorer and at least 3 landings in the past 60 days. If not, you will need to make another flight with an instructor. See https://www.eflight.nl/products/30-minute-check-out
- You of course have a valid licence and valid medical certificate
Flying on the weekend
Yes, we are open every day. Please note that Teuge Airport charges higher landing fees for all flights from early April through the end of September. Therefore, the rental price is higher during this period on weekends.
