My experience at E-Flight Academy Teuge completely exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, even offering coffee and pastries. A huge thank you to my flight instructor, Stephanie Smulders. She made the theoretical briefing very interesting and interactive. The flight itself was superb—seeing the Netherlands from above is truly beautiful. We started by going through the pre-flight checklist together, and then I actually got to try some flight maneuvers under her careful supervision. Her instructions were remarkably clear and easy to follow, which was amazing considering I had absolutely zero prior knowledge or flying experience. She even took some great photos of me. I highly recommend this academy!
A very nice flying school that I can recommend to anyone who wants to learn to fly here! There is always a relaxed atmosphere and the facilities are top-notch!
The trial lesson is well organized and all necessary information is communicated clearly. The E-Flight website itself deserves a separate 5-star rating for the clear and useful information. Professional organization with a focus on sustainability in aviation. That appeals to me. I am already considering taking the next step by booking an assessment. Special thanks to Peter for sharing his experience as a former air force pilot!
Really fun to experience, I did a trial lesson on the Pipistrel Velis Electro. I did this to see how I would like it before I go into selection for airline pilot training. For now, it's mainly a shame that I am not going straight on with the full PPL.
It was a great experience. Good, patient, and clear instructor. A beautiful route flown. Completely enthusiastic. Electric flying is a revelation, wonderfully quiet. And maximum time in the air without warming up time. Leaves me wanting more!
What an experience to fly electrically for the first time! The instructor was very friendly and open to all the questions I had. I will definitely come back here again! I recommend taking at least a trial lesson if electric flying appeals to you!
I always had this little desire to "fly a plane". We don't have this opportunity in India (unless you sign up for the full license training etc). Last week, when I visited Netherlands, my son recommended E-Flight academy. I had booked the class for the day I arrived. However the weather was not good and the school rescheduled it to another day. We drove down from Amsterdam and were greeted by the trainer. Warm welcome, coffee, and explained about the aircraft, the controls and other aspects. I got into the plane and was guided superbly by the trainer - to the extent that I could do most of the actions - taxi, takeoff, some of the maneuvering (stall, 360 turn, go up down, fly along the river etc). Landing was done by the trainer and followed by a debrief. Personally, a superb experience - the school, the staff who managed the appointment, the trainer and the actual flying !
Yesterday, my long-held childhood dream came true: flying a propeller plane myself. Electric too, so nice and quiet and clean. Beautiful weather and wide-open views. Everything was captured with GoPros, so I can enjoy looking back at it at home. Once in my youth I wanted to become a pilot, and I even got pretty far in the multi-day medical exam, but it fell through because I wore contact lenses. So I ended up choosing a different career. Still, I always stayed involved with flying, RC, and now especially VR, but nothing beats the real thing! And that is what I got to experience yesterday. Into the air with complete confidence, because next to me was Peter, an instructor who was just as friendly as he was experienced and also a passionate flyer. Highly recommended, really, and it certainly won't be the last time for me!
My son (16) flew (himself!) with a seasoned E-Flight Academy instructor and could not stop talking about it on the way back home. Don't think this is just a fun attraction though, they are serious about flying. And take you serious. Even in this introductionary flight he got to learn a lot about the procedures, the plane, the avionics. And of course it is also great fun!
It was a wonderful afternoon. And since it was an electric flight and E-flight Academy creates their own solar energy it was silent and clean!
Thank you so much, we wish you many successes in pioneering the future of flight!
Judy Resnik, NASA's second female astronaut, an inspiration for my theater performance You're too cute to be an astronaut, loved flying incredibly much. She was exceptionally good at it. “She was a natural pilot. Absolutely incredible ability in the air.” She, yes. I don't even have a driver's license myself, but encouragement can make all the difference. My friend gave me a flying lesson at E-Flight as a gift. I hugged him for this magnificent present and was afraid I was going to die. Which would have made for a nice story: ‘actress playing a crashed astronaut, crashes in a little plane’. A filmmaker friend promised to make a film about it. But better that I didn't die just yet. Anyway. To Teuge International Airport. I arrived, I trembled, and I flew. It was an electrifying experience. Instructor Mirella simply set my fear aside for a moment and taught me to fly an electric plane in less than an hour. And so I am still alive. That's nice. I could just make a video about it myself. See the YouTube channel Judy Lijdsman.
I fly as an instructor on the same type of electric plane back home in Norway, so when I visited the area I just had to do a quick flight with E-Flight.
This school is nothing other than impressive. The details put the dot over the i. They even have their own solar panels on the roof.
Both the instructor and the rest of the staff are super welcoming and friendly, and skilled. The Velis Electro is an awesome airplane, quiet and comfortable - and E-Flights instructors make this into a great experience.
Highly recommended!
Thank you for being awesome, and thank you for helping bring electric aviation to the World, E-Flight!
On Sunday, August 25, I enjoyed a trial lesson that I had received as a gift for my 75th birthday. There was plenty of calm and time for a good explanation. I enjoyed it enormously and never once felt unsafe. It was wonderful to see Apeldoorn (my hometown) from above for once. In my opinion, highly recommended.
As paragliders, my daughter and I flew in silence once again. You only hear the wind. A beautiful experience to have once, perhaps a stepping stone to more...
On Sunday 11-8, I had a very enjoyable experience with electric flying in the PH-EFL. Together with pilot Mirella Janssen, I made a lovely flight from Teuge via the IJssel, Deventer, and Zutphen via Sierra back to the LZ. I made a few turns myself and climbed to 2000 feet. Very nice and also a very relaxed feeling. Such a small aircraft with all the movement and thermals is really much nicer than a flight in a large sardine can. I won't forget this soon and who knows... maybe you'll get a base in Hoogeveen. That would be nice and close 😉😎
Last Friday we made our first electric flight. As old hands at electric driving, it was a challenge to take to the air electrically as well. A fantastic experience. Almost as quiet as an electric car, with just as much power, we each took off in our own plane (with an instructor) and got control of the aircraft. An amazing experience. We flew ourselves for more than half an hour, partly over Deventer, along the IJssel, and over the meadows. In the end, the instructor landed the plane.
We can recommend a trial flight to everyone. We came up with the idea when we visited E-flght in 2023 because of the annual meeting of the VER (Electric Drivers Association). A great exchange.
For Mitchel and Evert-Jan: thank you so much; it was TOP!
Kind regards
Bert and Gertie
An electric plane, that can't be real, can it? Well, it is! After having flown in (and with) "conventional" aircraft several times, I can say this is flying 2.0. Enjoying the maneuverability, the speed, and the relative calm, and the very expert guidance of our instructor. A lovely morning, a unique experience.
Had a really great experience! Gave a flying lesson as a gift to a boy who was here on holiday during a period of unfortunately very bad weather. We then explained the situation and they really thought along with us, and our flight was moved by one day because of a greater chance of good weather. This turned out to be good advice, since the original date would not have gone ahead and the new date had a beautiful blue sky :)
Also, the pilot was very friendly and gave him a fantastic day.
We would like to thank the scheduling team and pilot very much!
Magical experience to fly yourself. Great to see that electric flying is possible, even though it is still in the pioneering phase. The organization and communication are top-notch. It is a bit of an expensive treat, but worth it.
A lovely, shameless flying experience richer! Thanks to the trust of my instructor, I was allowed to fly independently for half an hour above Teuge during my first lesson. EFlight is a beautiful, honest, no-nonsense company; what you see is what you get! I am going for an assessment and hope I have enough talent and perseverance for a PPL:)
A fantastic experience to have and do!! First technical explanation/briefing about how the plane works, and then take off and fly and steer yourself. You get plenty of room to decide your own route and, by doing, to get the hang of the plane. Super experience, highly recommended!!
Well-organized and well-executed trial lesson. Instructor Mirella took my knowledge and (lack of) experience into account very well. As a result, it was a real lesson from which I learned a lot.
You can also feel that electric flying is still partly pioneering. Just like with the older electric cars, battery management is definitely a thing.
Today I was able to experience my first flying lesson.
I was a bit nervous, but that quickly went away after the briefing by the instructor/pilot.
What a fantastic experience, actually feeling what an aircraft does when you move the stick, very special.
Definitely recommended for everyone, just do it once, I'd say.
Kind regards,
Rob's ice cream bike.
The world of aviation needs to change and it starts here! At the E Flight Academy my son and I (separately) had our first trial lesson and experienced what it is like to fly an electric plane. We loved it! This is the future and it is happening now!
1.
A professional and orderly organization
2.
Pleasant and friendly welcome, clear and solid explanation (briefing)
3.
Flying is a wonderful experience
4.
So flying itself is beautiful, but what makes it special is the ''pioneer feeling'' of electric flying
5.
Because of the above, you forget that it is quite an expensive outing. It is definitely worth it!
6.
In short: highly recommended
Our granddaughter was very enthusiastic about her first flight at the controls! After a useful briefing by the instructor, she now has a better view of flying after an educational flight.
Had a trial lesson on a somewhat colder day, which, due to a software error (as it turned out later), made the charging time increase quite a bit.
A very friendly instructor gave a detailed preflight briefing. Since I had never flown myself before, taxiing was a bit swervy. Once in the air I was allowed to take over the stick again and it flew very smoothly and easily. Although I have no comparison material, of course, but I had expected it to be heavier / harder to control.
We also had crystal clear weather, so a magnificent view.
Despite the somewhat longer wait, it was a super experience, thanks in part to the friendly staff and instructor.
Even if you have no ambitions to become a pilot, it is truly a magnificent experience.
it is a nice experience when it comes to the preflight check. starting an electric motor, without the torque and vibration of a fuel engine. the gliding takeoff, silently. and how easily the Pipistrel flies. luckily for me, I had a good instructress. the aircraft is easy to control, and forgives mistakes. and quickly lets you know what is going to happen, thanks to its extended wings. I call that very stable flying. even during the landing approach, it was a wonderful feeling.
I want more so badly
Trial lesson on 28 July 2022.
Excellent preflight briefing by the instructor.
I had studied the Pilot’s Operating Handbook beforehand, which is exceptionally well written.
The Pipistrel E is a wonderfully nimble aircraft with the roll rate of an aerobatic machine thanks to the full wingspan flapperons.
You can roll into and out of steep turns with 60 degrees of bank with ease. The power-off stall is gentle; with power on there is a tendency to drop away over one wing, but this is easily corrected with rudder.
The aircraft has a great glide ratio and slips easily if you need to make an emergency or precautionary landing. Back in the circuit at Teuge, we did 2 touch & go's and finished with a full-stop landing. Because of the good glide ratio and the lack of spoilers (as on the Virus), it is difficult to make a spot landing.
All in all, the Pipistrel E is an excellent training aircraft, much more challenging than a Cessna and, on top of that, emission-free.
It is a wonderful experience, as an 80-year-old Teuge veteran, to come back to Teuge after 60 years. Electric flying is an unforgettable experience, with wide views and silence. It has many similarities to gliding. It is even more environmentally friendly than gliding, because you can take off under your own power. It is a lot of fun to do, especially because right after takeoff you get to fly the aircraft yourself (steer).
