Where would you like to fly from?
Online scheduling isn't available for Lelystad yet. Contact us at planning@eflight.nl and we'll schedule your flight from Lelystad together.

The Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer is a fun, fast two-seater that we use in training for navigation flights. The Explorer is the most economical high-speed cruiser and certainly the fastest high-wing aircraft in its category. The aircraft is made from state-of-the-art composite materials, lightweight, robust and has an unprecedented useful load capacity of more than 300 kg (660 lbs).

How does it work?

The rental of the Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer is based on the minutes shown on the Hobbs meter. If the flight time is much longer than 60 minutes, then we charge per extra minute afterwards. The minimum rental time is 60 minutes.

This rate includes:

  • VAT
  • Fuel
  • One off-field landing at Teuge (multiple landings or overland landings are at your own expense and will be billed afterwards)
  • CO2 compensation in cooperation with TreeByTree

On which days and times can I rent your aircraft?

This depends on our training schedule. In principle, booking earlier means more flexibility. Flying is possible within the airport opening hours (Teuge) and as long as E-Flight staff are present in the building for supervision.

You can see available dates and times when you select "Choose date and time" on this page. You will always see slots of één hour with a half-hour margin before and after the slot. If you want to fly for multiple hours, simply book the consecutive slots or call/WhatsApp 055 203 2230 and we will look with you.

If nothing suits you, you can coordinate with us by phone.

Day trips, weekend trips or longer

If you want to be away longer with our aircraft, for example to Texel for lunch, or a weekend away, that is only possible if no lessons are booked for the aircraft. In addition to the costs for flight time, you will then also pay a fee if you leave the aircraft on the ground somewhere for more than an hour. We settle this afterwards. You only pay for the hours on the ground during opening hours (because then we cannot use the aircraft ourselves).

Conditions

To go out with our aircraft you must meet a number of conditions.

  • You must hold a valid Single Engine Piston rating and have successfully completed a check-out flight with one of our instructors before you rent for the first time.
  • We ask you to read our rental agreement and safety declaration carefully and sign them. You should have done this immediately after your training. Upload this signed document to your Wings before you rent.
  • You have made at least 1 flight with our Explorer in the past 60 days and at least 3 landings. If that is not the case, you will need to fly again with an instructor. See https://www.eflight.nl/products/30-minute-check-out
  • You of course have a valid license and a valid medical certificate

Flying at the weekend

That is possible, we are open every day. Please note that Teuge Airport charges higher landing fees for all flights from early April to the end of September. Therefore the rental price is higher during weekends in this period.

I always had this little desire to "fly a plane". We don't have this opportunity in India (unless you sign up for the full license training etc). Last week, when I visited Netherlands, my son recommended E-Flight academy. I had booked the class for the day I arrived. However the weather was not good and the school rescheduled it to another day. We drove down from Amsterdam and were greeted by the trainer. Warm welcome, coffee, and explained about the aircraft, the controls and other aspects. I got into the plane and was guided superbly by the trainer - to the extent that I could do most of the actions - taxi, takeoff, some of the maneuvering (stall, 360 turn, go up down, fly along the river etc). Landing was done by the trainer and followed by a debrief. Personally, a superb experience - the school, the staff who managed the appointment, the trainer and the actual flying !

I fly as an instructor on the same type of electric plane back home in Norway, so when I visited the area I just had to do a quick flight with E-Flight. This school is nothing other than impressive. The details put the dot over the i. They even have their own solar panels on the roof. Both the instructor and the rest of the staff are super welcoming and friendly, and skilled. The Velis Electro is an awesome airplane, quiet and comfortable - and E-Flights instructors make this into a great experience. Highly recommended! Thank you for being awesome, and thank you for helping bring electric aviation to the World, E-Flight!

My son (16) flew (himself!) with a seasoned E-Flight Academy instructor and could not stop talking about it on the way back home. Don't think this is just a fun attraction though, they are serious about flying. And take you serious. Even in this introductionary flight he got to learn a lot about the procedures, the plane, the avionics. And of course it is also great fun! It was a wonderful afternoon. And since it was an electric flight and E-flight Academy creates their own solar energy it was silent and clean! Thank you so much, we wish you many successes in pioneering the future of flight!

I did a trial lesson here and it was an amazing experience! The aircraft are brand new, the instructor was great and I could control the aircraft for most of the flight, doing some really interesting manoeuvres. It was also a good opportunity to learn more about electric aircraft.

Last Thursday I went flying at E-flight academy in Teuge to try out a class on the Pipistrel velis electro, I was really looking forward to flying an electric plane as its something new and innovative. The instructor was very friendly and gave a great explanation of the basics. While in the air the instructor still demonstrated some manoeuvres such as a stall and sharp turns. When it was my turn to fly I made some turns and went flying around the clouds, it was great! Overall I would say give it a try, flying electric is also a lot quieter.
