Five years of E-Flight 🎉

In May 2021, the first two electric aircraft rolled out of the Sky Deck hangar and onto the runway. Five years later, we are still doing that, only the world around us looks very different now. What was once a bold idea has grown into a place where electric flying has become the norm, day in, day out, flight after flight.

Not by itself
Behind every milestone of the past five years is the work of people who chose every day, again and again, to turn sustainable aviation into something tangible. Every flight, every student, every event and every sim session has brought us to where we are now. Today, nowhere in the world is there as much electric flying as at E-Flight, and that is something to be proud of.

Done together
Perhaps the best thing is that this has never been the work of one person or one team. We did this together, with the colleagues who give their all every day and with the partners who have continued to believe in the same future from the very beginning.

Looking ahead
At the same time, we are mainly looking ahead, because five years feels more like a beginning than an endpoint. The technology that was still exceptional in 2021 is slowly becoming the norm, and we see around us that more and more people, training programmes and airlines are joining in. We want to keep driving that momentum in the years ahead, because we are far from done.

That is why we celebrated this milestone the way it should be celebrated: together. On Tuesday, 19 May, employees and partners of the E-Flight Group came together for lunch at E-Deck. We started at twelve o'clock and went back to work at half past one, because there is still plenty of great things ahead for us!
