The Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer is a fun, fast two-seater that we use for navigation flights during training. The Explorer is the most fuel-efficient high-speed cruiser and certainly the fastest high-wing aircraft in its class. Made from state-of-the-art composite materials, the aircraft is lightweight and robust, with an unrivaled useful load of more than 300 kg (660 lbs).
How does it work?
The rental of the Pipistrel Virus SW 121A Explorer is based on the minutes shown on the Hobbs meter. If the flight duration is much longer than 60 minutes, we charge an additional fee per minute afterward. The minimum rental period is 60 minutes.
This rate includes:
- VAT
- Fuel. Please note: If fuel prices rise significantly, we apply a temporary fuel surcharge. This surcharge is calculated afterward.
- One landing at Teuge (multiple landings or cross-country landings are at your own expense and will be invoiced afterward)
- CO2 compensation in partnership with TreeByTree
On which days and at what times can I rent your aircraft?
This depends on our lesson schedule. In principle, booking earlier gives you more flexibility. You can fly during the airport's opening hours (Teuge) and as long as E-Flight staff are present in the building to supervise.
You can see the available dates and times by selecting "Choose date and time" on this page. You will see one-hour slots, with a 30-minute buffer before and after each slot. If you want to fly for several hours, simply book consecutive slots or call/message us on 055 203 2230 and we'll help you.
If none of the options suit you, you can discuss it with us by phone.
Day trips, weekend trips, or more
If you want to go away for longer in our aircraft, for example to Texel for lunch or somewhere for the weekend, this is only possible if no lessons have been booked for the aircraft. In addition to the flight time charges, you'll also pay a fee if you leave the aircraft on the ground somewhere for more than an hour. We'll settle this afterward. You only pay for the hours the aircraft is on the ground during opening hours (as we can't use the aircraft ourselves then).
Requirements
You must meet a number of requirements to fly our aircraft.
- You must hold a valid Single Engine Piston rating and have successfully completed a check-out flight with one of our instructors before renting for the first time.
- Please read and sign our rental agreement and safety declaration. You should have done this immediately after your training. Upload the signed document to your Wings account before renting.
- You have completed at least 1 flight in our Explorer and at least 3 landings in the past 60 days. If not, you will need to fly with an instructor again. See https://www.eflight.nl/products/30-minute-check-out
- Of course, you must have a valid licence and a valid medical certificate
Weekend flying
You can; we're open every day. Please note that Teuge Airport charges higher landing fees for all flights from early April to late September. That's why the rental price is higher on weekends during this period.
