Who is this training for?

Are you a pilot with the ambition to fly commercially, and do you strive to do this in the most sustainable way, with the newest aircraft at the most innovative flight school there is? Then the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) Course at E-Flight Academy is exactly what you're looking for!

A CPL, or Commercial Pilot License, opens the door to a professional career in aviation. It enables you to transport people or goods for compensation, giving you access to a wide range of career opportunities. Obtaining your CPL is an essential step for those who want to make flying their profession. Moreover, it provides a solid foundation for obtaining further specializations and certificates within the aviation industry.

CPL is a hybrid training at E-Flight Academy

At E-Flight Academy we offer state-of-the-art training for your Commercial Pilot License. This high-quality training is provided by our most experienced instructors and is characterized by a hybrid approach. This means you fly 25% of the time with our advanced electric aircraft and the remaining part with Single Engine Piston aircraft, of which we compensate all CO2 emissions via TreeByTree. The training takes place in our hangar at Teuge, E-Deck, which is equipped with excellent briefing rooms, great coffee and a positive atmosphere.

Frequently asked questions

  • How long does the course normally take?
Together with the student, E-Flight Academy will aim to complete the flight training for a CPL(A) in approximately 8 to 10 weeks. However, in most cases the duration of the course will be determined by the availability of students, which may take longer. CPL students are required to complete the state exams before starting the CPL(A) course.

The practical part of the CPL course must be completed within 18 months at the latest and in any case within the validity period of the theoretical state exams (36 months after successful completion of the last state exam). All phases of flight instruction are followed in a continuous training program organized by E-Flight Academy.

The flight training overview shows the minimum required training. Each training flight has a completion standard that must be achieved before progressing to the next training flight. In the event that the required standard is not achieved within the minimum allocated time, it will be necessary to repeat all or part of the training flight, which will likely result in an extension of the course beyond the minimum hours. Mandatory exercises not flown within a syllabus flight are automatically added to the next instruction flight by the IT system.

  • Is the CPL exam included in the price?
The CPL 'skill test' is not included in the price. An exam has a standard level that must be demonstrated. Therefore, an exam will not always take the same amount of time.

The exam is flown on a 4-seater with retractable landing gear. This aircraft is rented by the candidate for the exam and E-Flight arranges an examiner. Billing for aircraft rental and examiner including the number of landings and fuel is done afterwards by E-Flight.

  • Can I fly commercially anywhere with my CPL?
With your CPL in hand, you can work as a commercial pilot anywhere as long as it's a VFR operation. If the company in question also flies IFR, you may not be fully deployable. At E-Flight you can also get your IR(A).

If you want to be hired by an aviation company with a multi-pilot operation, you also need to participate in an MCC and UPRT course. If you have questions about this, contact us!
