Incident reporting guidelines — if you spot it, report it

All damage, no matter how minor, must be reported via SMS and the aircraft technical log. Collective responsibility.

Background

Unreported aircraft damage continues to be found during inspections. This is unsafe for the next pilot, complicates walkarounds, and damages aircraft airworthiness through poor tracking. Every member of the E-Flight community is responsible for reporting.

Key points

  • All damage — even cosmetic, even small — must be reported
  • Reporting via SMS and the aircraft technical log is both required, not either/or
  • Reporting ensures safe operations for the next flight
  • It prevents confusion during future walkarounds
  • It protects fellow pilots from flying with unknown damage
  • It maintains airworthiness through proper tracking
  • Required actions

  • After every flight, inspect the aircraft and report any new damage immediately
  • Log every incident via SMS AND in the aircraft technical log
  • If you find unreported damage during pre-flight, report it before flying
  • If in doubt whether to report — report
