From Zero to Hero in 16 months

Zero to hero information

Your ATPL training isn't a long marathon but a series of shorter sprints with clear milestones. Each step builds on the previous one and brings you closer to your end goal: First Officer at Corendon Dutch Airlines.

The route starts with the basics: learning to fly and your first solo. Then you build professional skills and learn to operate in all weather conditions. In parallel, you study the theory and Corendon procedures. After 16 months, you have all the licenses and knowledge to apply as a First Officer at Corendon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Training & Costs

No, not at the moment. You must fund your training yourself. If you wish, we can put you in touch with an organization that has extensive experience in financing training. If you pass the selection process and have started the training, we will also pay part of these advisory fees. For more information, please contact us.

Certainly. For this course we require several advance payments for the various lesson packages. These are both flight lesson packages and theory packages. We will agree a payment schedule with you before the start.

Then you stop the training. You only pay for the lessons you have taken. It may be that you have already passed a number of exams and therefore already hold a PPL license or IR rating. The great thing about the modular training is that stopping partway through or taking a different route is possible.

15-18 months for the complete training.

Yes, our EASA certification is globally recognized. Airlines especially value our modern approach.

If you make it through Corendon's selection, we assume you'll be working full time on your flight training. Besides flying, you'll also follow many theoretical subjects. You will take the training together with a number of fellow students.

Would you prefer to complete flight training at your own pace while continuing to work? Then you might be better off choosing a standard modular ATPL pathway.

Admission & Requirements

Yes, unfortunately. At the start we will fly a large part of the training on the Pipistrel Velis. It can carry a maximum of 180 kilo of weight. If you weigh more than 95 kilo, scheduling becomes difficult and you may not complete the training within 16 months. Also, if you are tall it’s a good idea to first purchase a trial lesson to see if it "fits".

Training & Location

Main base is Teuge Airport (near Apeldoorn and Deventer). In winter you can fly extra hours in Alicante, Spain for better flying weather. We also have a location at Lelystad where we learn to fly in the dark and where you will do many instrument approaches. We will also soon start electric flight lessons at Lelystad.

Deventer is nearby and affordable (€400-800/month). We can help you with housing through our network.

Career & Future

If you are selected you will sign a letter of intent with Corendon. The likelihood that you will be hired after your training is very high but this is not a guarantee. For information about the terms and conditions, it is best to contact Corendon.
