Electric trial flights on Texel. A summary of the highlights!

Elektrische lesvluchten op Texel. Een samenvatting van de highlights!

From July 11 to August 25, E-Flight Academy had a Pop-up flight school at Texel Airport. A unique opportunity for pioneering tourists and locals to take an electric flying lesson on the beautiful island of Texel! In this blog post a brief summary of the highlights!

First reactions

Our instructor Alexandra was ready to give trial lesson participants an unforgettable experience and teach you the finer points of electric flying over the beautiful island of Texel.

"Electric flying over Texel is truly an unforgettable experience. The aircraft is remarkably quiet and surprisingly easy to control. With the large windows in the cockpit, you also enjoy breathtaking views of the island."

Fully in the media

Our presence on Texel has certainly not gone unnoticed! Various media have paid attention to our initiative. And that is not surprising, as Texel is the very first island in the world where electric flight lessons are offered! We are delighted with the positive responses and the interest that this unique project has generated.

Texcellence

Even Texel influencers found us! Check out the reel from Amy, from the Instagram channel Texellentie:

Also Peter from TexelVrienden made a reel of his flight:

And there was more!

In addition to our trial lessons, we offer more products on Texel. For existing pilots, we had for example a E-Conversion programIn just 5 flights, you will learn to fly electrically, and afterwards, you may also rent an electric aircraft.

For those who are extremely enthusiastic after their trial lesson, we had a Assessment program consisting of 6 lessons. These lessons also form the first six lessons of the PPL training, which means they count towards the required minimum of 45 flight hours. After these lessons, you will get answers to important questions:

  • Is flying really your dream and is it worth the investment?
  • Do you have the talent and ability to become a pilot?

Finally

Finally, we would like to express our appreciation for the indispensable contribution of Ed and Mike de Bruijn (from Texel Airport). Without their extraordinary commitment and support for sustainable aviation, this entire Texel adventure would never have been possible. From the preparation to the last day, they have dedicated themselves unprecedentedly. Our sincere thanks go out to these gentlemen!
