Teuge Airport gets E-Deck with its own E-Campus for electric aviation

Teuge Airport krijgt E-Deck met eigen E-Campus voor elektrische luchtvaart

High-end hangar Skydeck changes name and purpose.

Europe's first electric flight school E-Flight Academy and maintenance company Hangar One have joined forces and are the new owners of Skydeck at Teuge Airport (Apeldoorn area). The high-end hangar and event venue is located at the runway and will develop its own E-Campus under the name E-Deck in the coming period. E-Deck will also become the perfect conference venue in Gelderland, central Netherlands. Excellently located near Apeldoorn and Deventer

E-Campus
E-Campus is set to become THE center for everything related to electric flying. By bringing together knowledge with expertise AND facilities, all forces are combined to significantly accelerate sustainable aviation.

Shared research facilities
The E-Campus will house various shared research facilities such as: virtual and augmented reality technology, hybrid and electric aircraft, battery technology, flight simulators and charging infrastructure. Around 10 companies and educational institutions will be engaged daily in making aviation more sustainable. The E-Campus is intended to become an important innovative center and incubator for accelerating the transition to electric flying.

E-Deck as sustainable event venue
Besides housing the E-Campus, the E-Deck hangar will also be used as a venue for events with a sustainable character. All companies that already had bookings will continue as planned and are still welcome. The focus of future events will increasingly move towards sustainability.

European Regional Development Fund
The shared facility E-Deck is an innovative ecosystem that facilitates R&D and further development within electric aircraft technology and electrification of airport infrastructure and ground-based activities. E-Deck is a physical shared location where knowledge, expertise and ambition come together around e-aviation. This involves SME companies in collaboration with knowledge and educational institutions. Besides accelerating the transition to electric flying, it also makes Teuge Airport an interesting location for companies active in the development of electric transport modalities. E-Deck is being realized partly through financial support from the European Regional Development Fund until 31-12-2023. Co-financed as part of the Union's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
